JAMMU, Oct 21: Jammu University today launched one-year PG Diploma Course in Yoga.
Vice-Chancellor Prof M P S Ishar, who formally launched the course during a well attended function, said that the Yoga Centre would be strengthened in due course of time.
The VC further said that Yoga contributes to human growth in a valuable manner as it has answer for so many health related issues, especially fitness of human beings.
Earlier, Dr D L Choudhary highlighted the achievements of the Yoga Centre and welcomed the students of PG Diploma in Yoga for seeking admission in the course.
About 50 students including PG students and general class candidates attended the inaugural function. The practical class was conducted by Sanhay Asin and Sanjeev Kumar, Yoga instructors. The demonstration of the Asanas was given by S K Jain from Bhartia Yog Sansthan.
Among others, the inaugural function was attended by Prof Keshav Sharma, Controller of Examinations, Prof Satnam Kour, HoD English, J K Sharma, Special Secretary to VC, Balwan Singh, members of the Vichar Kranti Manch International, University students, scholars, teachers and officers.
