JAMMU, Dec 12: Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) J&K Unit here today staged a protest demonstration demanding a full-fledged dedicated Duggar Channel.
The protest was led by Shiv Sena J&K president, Manish Sahni who said that Jammu is being ignored deliberately though Dogra community played a key role in the victory of BJP MPs from both Lok Sabha seats of Jammu division.
“Conspiracies are being hatched to destroy rich cultural identity of Jammu,” he claimed adding: “Budget of Jammu Doordarshan is continuously being reduced, due to which Jammu Doordarshan is running on the support of re-telecast of old programs instead of doing its new production.”
The Shiv Sena leader also said that the situation is such that all the artists including Dogri, Pahari and Gojri associated with Jammu division are being forced to suffer.
He said if Jammu Doordarshan and Dugar channel are not restored as fully dedicated satellite channels then there will be a massive mass movement and protests outside Raj Bhavan.
Shiv Sena women wing president, Meenakshi Chhibber; senior vice president, Harsh Kumar Gupta and others were also present in the press conference.
