JAMMU, Oct 21: The Food Safety Authorities today seized 42 packets of banned `gutka’ from two shops in RS Pura and imposed fine on them.
While 29 packets of `gutka’ were seized from Fancy General Store, 13 packets were seized from Dina Nath and Sons shop in RS Pura town.
The shopkeepers selling banned `gutka’ were fined.
Food Safety Officer, Municipal Committee, RS Pura, Manoj Bali conducted the raids under the supervision of Designated Authority Madan Lal Magotra.
Drugs Controller Satish Gupta has asked the shopkeepers to destroy `gutka’ on their own if they have it in their shops otherwise it would be seized and the sellers would have to pay hefty fine.
