LEH, Dec 13: In Ladakh, the strategic National Highway connecting UT Ladakh to UT J&K was opened for traffic after remaining closed for three days due to recent snowfall.
491 vehicles including LMVs and heavy vehicles crossed Zojjila from Kargil to Srinagar. Ladakh Police Kargil at Meenamarg post remained active in clearing the vehicles along Zojjila, by spreading soiling, providing drivers, helping in pushing vehicles despite the chilling cold temperature of Zojjila.
People travelling today appreciated the role of the Ladakh Police and thanked them for their help during the travel along the dangerous route of Zojjila.
Pertinent to mention that after Ladakh became UT, the Kargil- Srinagar road has remained opened for maximum period of time and this has helped the people during the winter.
