SRINAGAR, Dec 14: Security forces averted major tragedy by destroying an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Pattan area of Baramulla today.
A police spokesman said that joint teams of Police along with 29 RR of Army and CRPF detected an IED on Srinagar-Baramulla NHW near PDD Office Pattan.
“Soon after detection of the IED, traffic was halted and movement of people was restricted. Accordingly, Bomb Disposal Squad was rushed to spot and the IED was destroyed without causing any damage,” he said.
A case has been registered in Police Station Pattan and further investigation is in progress.
