CCBL becomes first ever bank to introduce Sanskrit in its functioning

JAMMU, Dec 15: With the introduction of withdrawal and deposit procedure in Sanskrit too, Sanskritvitkosha (Sanskrit bank) was inaugurated today at The Citizen’s Co-operative Bank Ltd’s Administrative office in Gandhinagar Jammu.
Being managed by Dr Uttam Chand Shastri Birth Centenary Committee in collaboration with The Citizen’s Co-operative Bank Ltd, the Sanskrit bank was jointly inaugurated by DIG Shakti Pathak, Chief Trustee of Chudamani Sanskrit Sansthan, Citizen’s Co-operative Bank Ltd Chairman, Parveen Sharma; Agriculture Director Jammu, K K Sharma; Director Central Sanskrit University Jammu Campus, Prof Madan Mohan Jha; Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sansthan Trust President Mahant Rohit Shastri and SSP Varinder Manhas.
Speaking on the occasion, CCBL Chairman Parveen Sharma said that this initiative has been taken under the birth centenary celebrations of late Dr Uttamchand Shastri Pathak, scholar of Devvani Sanskrit with the joint efforts of the Citizen’s Co-operative Bank Ltd, Chudamani Sanskrit Sansthan Basholi, Jammu, Shrikailakh Jyotish and Vedic Institute Trust Jammu Kashmir, Central Sanskrit University, Sri Ranbir Campus Jammu Kashmir and Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST).
“With this, Citizen’s Cooperative Bank has become world’s first ever bank to introduce Sanskrit in its working and from next year onwards, the bank will publish its stationery in Sanskrit also alongside English and Hindi,” he added.
DIG Shakti Pathak, in his address, emphasized that the ancient language of India is Sanskrit, which is protecting our culture and it is necessary that Sanskrit should reach the masses so that the glorious culture of India can be revived and spread.
Director Agriculture K K Sharma said that the culture which develops Sanskrit and gets cultured from Sanskrit awakens world peace and social development even in today’s era. He said that late Dr Uttam Chand Shastri Pathak and his family have made invaluable contribution in the promotion and development of Sanskrit language in India.
Prof Madan Mohan Jha said that this innovation has been done by the university for the acceptance of Sanskrit among the masses, and in this initiative the support of Parveen Sharma and staff members of the bank has been commendable and appreciable.
Mahant Rohit Shastri said that the main objective of this initiative is to promote Devvani Sanskrit.
On this occasion Sumant Singh, Bharat Bhushan, Ravi Kant, Sanjeev Lambha, Vaid Sharma, Ravi Bakshi, Sukhjeet Singh, Ravinder Singh Jamwal, Tarsem Gupta, Rakesh Arora, Rajiv Jandial, Anil Modi, Sanjay Sharma, Raman Sharma, Shambhoo Singh, Jatinder Sharma, Munish Angurna were also present.
