JAMMU, Dec 15: A pedestrian was knocked to death by an unidentified truck in Kunjwani area on city outskirts.
The mishap occurred late last night on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway near Pari Mahal, said Police sources. Giving details, they said the pedestrian identified as Jugal Kishore (64) son of Ram Chand, resident of lane number 9, Shakti Nagar (Jammu), was critically injured in a hit-and run case by a speeding truck when he was crossing the road.
“The injured man was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu but he succumbed to his injuries on the way to the Hospital,” sources said, adding, the body of the deceased was handed over to his family after getting conducted postmortem at GMCH Jammu while a case under relevant sections of the law was registered in this connection at Police Station Gangyal and further investigation started.
