Cops rescue 9 bovines, arrest 4 smugglers

KISHTWAR, Dec 15: Continuing drive against anti-social elements, cops from Police Station Atholi foiled bovine smuggling bid and rescued nine bovine animals from Ishtiyari Padder area.
On specific information a special team led by Inspector Vikram Parihar, SHO Atholi assisted by PSI Rohit Kumar IC PP Ishtiyari under the supervision of SDPO Atholi laid naka at Shawas.
While checking vehicles and pedestrians the cops stopped two load carriers and rescued nine bovine animals and arrested four bovine smugglers.
The smugglers were carrying bovines from Padder to Kashmir via Sinthan without any valid permission from the concerned authority.
Accordingly, cases in FIR Numbers 50/2022 & 51/2022 under relevant sections of law were registered at Police Station Atholi and investigation taken up.
