KARGIL, Dec 17: Chairman/ CEC, LAHDC Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan today toured to Silmo area and inaugurated Government employees quarter and constituency community hall/guest house.
Executive Councillor Works Mubarak Shah Naqvi, EC Tourism and Zanskar Affairs Punchok Tashi, EC Social Welfare Syed Mehdi Fazily, Deputy Commissioner/CEO LAHDC Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Superintending Engineers of R&B, PHE and I&FC, Executive Engineers of R&B and PHE, PRI members, villagers and concerned officers were present during the ceremony.
The villagers and PRI members expressed gratitude to the CEC and District Administration for timely completion of the two infrastructural sites. They also forwarded various grievances to the CEC.
The CEC, who is also Councilor of the Constituency, extended gratitude to DC Kargil and PWD for timely completion of both the buildings which will benefit the villagers and Government employees serving in the area.
Regarding the works of various link roads including Lakha, Grong and adjacent localities, Khan said the tendering work is complete and the work will resume by spring. He added that electric poles will also be replaced and repaired in a phased manner.
About drinking water issues, the CEC directed to install submersible pumps and provide water tankers to the localities where submersible pumps can’t be installed. He also directed to repair non-functional hand pumps.
Regarding the provision of logistic facilities and support for the commencement of Coaching Centre at Government School Lakha, Khan assured that the matter will be taken up with the Education Department for early redressal. The CEC further assured to take the necessary steps to resume work on archery ground and Community Hall at Lakha.
Later, the CEC visited the construction site of link road to Adam Mohalla and directed the concerned officer to demarcate the path of the road and stressed for its early completion.
Pertinently, the Government employees quarter Silmo has been constructed at a cost of Rs 1.50 crore while the constituency community hall has been constructed at a cost of Rs 1.22 crore by R&B Department Kargil.
