ANANTNAG, Dec 18: Former JKPCC president, Ghulam Ahmed Mir today said that concocted and misleading propaganda won’t deter Congress Party from fighting against wrong policies adopted by the BJP in J&K, which is witnessing assaults frequently on resources especially jobs and land by enacting different undesirable laws after downgrading full-fledged State.
“It has become a routine to intimidate people and target the resources under the garb of new laws. Congress Party will neither remain mute spectator to such measures nor will compromise on the people’s rights,” Mir said while addressing booth level delegates at Damhal Khushipora in Anantnag district.
He said though BJP was hell bent upon to defame Congress Party aiming to mislead people on various counts, but the facts remains they (people) not only in J&K but across the country have realized that BJP is fabricating stories against the Congress aiming to hide its inability and failures on all counts besides trying justify its wrong policies under the garb of targeting the Party.
Mir said unemployment has risen considerably, visibly the developmental process has received serious setbacks, though tall claims with regard to development etc were being made for the publicity and local consumption, but the facts remains so called B2Vs and frequent visit of Central Ministers have failed to yield any results.
People have realized that BJP Govt at Centre want to keep things revolving around good governance and development which is no where to be seen in-order to hide its agenda of disempowering JK People besides delaying elections to make them (people) unheard and unpresented at every forum, which was a deliberate move on the part of BJP Govt, he blamed.
Commenting on the new land laws 2022, Mir said this indicates that the land leased out decades ago will have to be surrendered on the expiry of lease which is being justified under the garb of using the same for development of JKUT, but the law is anti-people and draconian should not be implemented, Mir demanded.
He urged booth level workers to further strengthen Party at grass roots, as that, it is the Congress Party which is capable to fight for the people and defeat wrong policies adopted by the BJP towards J&K.
Senior party leader SS Chani, Umer Jan, Ali Mohd Mantoo, Mohd Iqbal Mir and Shaheena Neda also spoke on the occasion.
