Glowing tribute paid to Kashyap Bandhu

JAMMU, Dec 18:Glowing tribute were paid to Kashyap Bhandu the former president of All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) and veteran KP leader on his 37th death anniversary by Kashmiri Pandits today.
In this connection functions were organised by various KP organizations in which the contribution of late leader towards the people of erstwhile J&K State and country were highlighted.
The ASKPC held a function at its office Durga Nagar under the chairmanship of its president, R K Wangnoo in which floral tributes were paid to late leader and his contributions were recalled by all speakers. Wangnoo termed Kashyap Bhandu a great social reformer who launched a crusade against the evil social customs in the society without caring for public criticism.
He said the late leader was a great visionary who fought for the rights of people of the erstwhile State as well as his community up to his last breath.
Another function was held by Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) at New Delhi under the chairmanship of its president Kundan Kashmiri. He said Kashyap Bandhu was a thinker ahead of his time who introduced social reforms and worked tirelessly for the betterment of the people of the erstwhile State. He was a dynamic leader who even did not hesitate in taking up with the Government of that time for the people’s cause.
Kashmiri said the late leader who started his crusade for social reforms in 1931 will always be remembered by the community for his services to people of the State as well as the community.
All Displaced Kashmiri United Forum (ADKUF) in its meeting held under the leadership of its president, P L Sudeshi paid glowing tributes to Kashyap Bhandu. Others who spoke on his life and contribution included Prem Nath Raina its general secretary and chief Advisor, Prof G L Kaul.
