JAMMU, Dec 19: Stephens College of Nursing, under the aegis of Dr Aparna Educational Trust organized a workshop on “Organ Donation & Transplantation”.
The workshop was organized by Medical Surgical Nursing Department under the guidance of Prof Sarla Raina (HoD MSN) organizing chairperson and Neha John, Assistant Professor workshop Coordinator and Supervision of Manoj Kotru, Administrator and Prof Muni Dhar, Principal and with the support of Prof Kheema Peshin (Vice Principal) & Ritu Gupta (Associate Professor & Activity Incharge).
Dr Sanjeev Puri (Joint Director SOTTO J&K) was the chief guest of the event & Dr Irfan Ahmed Lone (Transport Coordinator) was the special guest of the event.
Manoj Kotru highly appreciated the sincere effort of MSN Department & the concerned teachers with the students of a BSc (N) 3rd year, BSc (N) 2nd year, & Post Basic B.Sc (N) 1styear for their brilliant presentation & preparing marvellous Modals. SCON is the first college in the J&K who organized workshop on such a sensitive topic “Organ Donation & Transplantation.”
The workshop commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony which was followed by the welcome Song. The introduction of the topic along with the objectives was presented by Khushboo Rani of M.Sc (N) 1st year, Saniya Sharma of BSc (N) 3rd year told about heart donation and transplant which was followed by the 2nd topic- kidney and eye donation was presented by Mir Sabia & Sofi Rasiba of BSc (N) 2nd year. On lung donation and transplantation subject Pawandeep & Uzair of P.B.B.Sc (N) 1st year spoke.
Sanjeev Puri highly applauded the students & concerned Faculty member for the informative workshop. He inspired and motivated everyone to donate organs & save lives.
Workshop culminated with a very positive note and enrichment & enhancement of the knowledge of all attendees.
