Police stops family trying to cross LoC

POONCH, Dec 20: The local police stopped a family, which was trying to cross the Line of Control from Chakan- da- Bagh area of Poonch over an alleged partisan of local administration in a matter of land dispute.

Official sources said that Zaffer Iqbal, son of Khadim Hussain along with his family including three women and two children, hailing from Gohlad village of tehsil Mendhar, in district Poonch, today tried to move to PoK from Poonch LoC but Police timely reached and stopped them to move further ahead towards Line of Control.
The family members alleges that they had a long time pending land dispute and ACR Poonch had ordered partition of the said land last year but local administration was acting in a partisan manner, due to which they were frustrated and today decided to cross over to POK.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Poonch, Rohit Baskotra when contacted said that Police was enquiring into the matter and the proceedings will be taken accordingly.
