Sahai assures redressal of armed policemen grievances

SRINAGAR, Oct 23:  S M Sahai, Additional DGP Armed Jammu and Kashmir today held Darbar of Jawans to discuss their problem and assured them that the redressal of their genuine grievances, whether domestic or service related would be given top priority.
Sahai was interacting with the jawans of all North Kashmir based Armed and IRP Battalions and STC Sheeri, at Armed Police Complex Parihaspora, Pattan.
The ADGP said that there was a demand from all ranks of Armed Police that there should be better ration and canteen facilities in all the units. “We have started providing better facilities to Jawans by creating Central Pricing & Quality Control Committee (CQ&PC), with the result mess charges from Jawans has been considerably brought down,” he said.
The ADGP said that the directions have already been conveyed to all the Commandants to establish canteens in their units, so that the goods of daily use are made available to Jawans and their families at cheaper rates and the said facility should be extended to the families of martyrs, Police personnel, SPOs as well.
He said that women constables and followers have already been transferred to their respective ranges as a welfare measure. He also announced that Jawans who have sustained grievous injuries while fighting militancy and maintaining law and order in the State, will be given top priority and will be considered under transfer policy being formulated at APHQ level.
Sahai assured all those Officers Jawans, who have sustained injuries during anti-militancy operations and maintenance of law and order duties for all possible help and will always own them.
