Cops rescue 164 bovine animals

RAMBAN, Dec 20: Police here today rescued 164 bovine animals being transported to Srinagar from Jammu and Sumber in nine different vehicles.
These vehicles were with registration numbers—JK02 AT-0665, JK 19A 1225, JK 02 AQ 5639, JK02 CQ 2711, JK02 AQ 7781, JK 19 3224, JK 03J 6126, JK02 AR 8377 and JK14 H2874.
On checking the vehicles 164 bovine animals were found loaded in them with utmost cruelty under unhygienic conditions without any arrangement for food and water.
These animals were being transported to Kashmir without any valid permission of competent authority and the police rescued them.
In this regard, nine FIRs were registered at Police Station Dharamkund, Police Station Ramban and Police Station Batote.
All the involved vehicles were seized and all smugglers were arrested under relevant sections of law and investigations have been set into motion.
The overall rescue operation was made by police parties under the command of Inspector Sam Pal Gill, SHO Batote, Inspector Sandeep Singh Charak, SHO Ramban, and Inspector Hargpopal Singh, SHO Dharmkund under the supervision of Pardeep Singh Sen, DySP Hqrs Ramban and Nihar Ranjan SDPO Gool with the overall supervision of SP Ramban, Mohita Sharma.
