SRINAGAR, Oct 23: All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee Kashmir (APSCC) demanded stern punishment to those involved in killing of Sikh policeman in Baramulla district on the day of Eid Chairman, Jagmohan Singh Raina said a Sikh policeman, Kanwal Nain Singh of Singhpora Kalan, was killed on Eid day was a matter of great concern for every Kashmiri as it was not right for unity of society here.
“We as Kashmiri should restrain from killing unarmed local police men as they are part and parcel our Kashmiri society and are just doing their job impartially,” he said.
Singh also demanded action and stern punishment against forces and police culprits who are involved in killings of innocent civilians.
“We demand an enquiry with respect to such inhumane killing of the Sikh policeman as the whole police party was unarmed and were coming back after attending Eid prayers. This killing has shocked the whole society,” he said.
He said such incidents are of worry and smell something fishy as many agencies were working to defame the brotherhood of Kashmir at international level, as Kashmiriyat and brotherhood in Kashmir are famous around the globe.
“Kashmir is not Gujarat or UP (Muzaffar Nagar) where brotherhood is at the mercy of Government of India, law-enforcement agencies. We are from lands of Sufism, where peace and brotherhood are in our blood and not imposed upon us by the law or by the government. It’s in the nature of this land”, said Raina.
