Week-long ‘National Art Workshop’ concludes

JAMMU, Dec 22: A week-long National Art Workshop organized by Master Sansar Chand Baru Trust Jammu and Kashmir in collaboration with North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala (Punjab), concluded here today.
The concluding day of the workshop was marked by a mesmerizing ‘Sufi Musical Evening’ by AKIB, organized at K L Sehgal Hall. In today’s function, Alok Kumar, (Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Estates & Civil Aviation Department, J&K) was the chief guest while Dr Rashmi Singh (Commissioner, State Taxes Department) was the guest of honour.
Anuradha Rishi, Trustee Master Sansar Chand Baru Trust, while addressing the gathering, threw light on the functioning of the Trust in preserving the rich art and culture which she termed the identity of a society. She said that the workshop is conducted with the aim to give impetus to the genre of art and to encourage the younger artists to explore their hidden talent.
While appreciating the talent of the children of Jammu, Anuradha Bhasin said that these children have immense potential but their talent needs to be polished. She said that the need to be provided a proper platform to hone and showcase their skills.
Meanwhile, art material was also distributed among the children of Balgran – a charitable home for destitute children, who regularly visited the art workshop and learnt various techniques of art.
