JAMMU, Dec 22:  The women wing of National Awami United Party (NAUP) has resolved to fight against the drug menace in the region, here today.
A meeting of the women wing was chaired by general secretary Shikha Bandral Thakur at Party office on the instruction of Party president, Sandeep Singh, wherein scores of women joined the party and were welcomed into the Party fold.
They announced the appointment of new office bearers including Sangita Dutta as District general secretary Jammu and Anita kumari as District joint secretary Samba by the Party president.
Sangita Dutta appealed to women to come forward and join hands with the Party for the security of women as crime in Jammu has increased manifold, while Shikha Bandral expressed her concern on drug menace in Jammu which has become a major reason for many other crimes like chain snatching and looting.
Sushma Kumari president District Samba, Pinki Bhagat youth president Samba, Sapna devi District secretary Jammu and others were present during the meeting.
