Dr Teng Chair to safeguard nationalist interests: Kaul

JAMMU, Dec 24: Dr. Mahesh Kaul,Head, recently established Prof.M.K.Teng Chair under Jonaraja Institute of Genocide & Atrocities Studies (JIGAS) while underlining the objectives of the chair said,”Prof Teng was the pioneer of the nationalist renaissance scholarship in Jammu and Kashmir who decoded the challenges being faced by the Indian nation during and in the aftermath of the partition.
Addressing a press conference here, today, he said Dr Teng prophesized many fault lines that can pose serious threats to the nation building and national security in Jammu and Kashmir, leading to dangerous impacts on the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Indian nation. It was he who did the primary research on the subversive impact of the Article 370 on national life of India. His studies led to his many seminal works in Constitutional history and geo political strategy helping the policy makers to neutralize the seditious article and safeguarding the Northern Frontier of India in J and K.”
He further said, ”Not only that he underlined that the subversive war that is launched by the enemies of the nation from outside with local support inside had wider ramifications on the Indian nation.
Kaul said the chair intends to adopt his research methodologies in developing the scholarship in social sciences, political science, history, law and allied disciplines to encourage the scholars to adopt cross disciplinary approach to address the academic challenges to reinforce the nationalist discourse to safeguard the nationalist interests.
Kaul said,“The nationalist resurgence in India has given new hope to the scholars in Jammu and Kashmir to contribute to knowledge pool of the nation and bring impetus to the academics,. So that universities and colleges adopt new Indic methodologies to uphold the Indian nation in narrative building, nation building and create a Sanskrit civilizational ecosystem that reverses the nefarious designs of the forces of De Sanskritisation. In this connection the chair will hold Dr.M.K Teng lectures, seminars, workshops and conferences besides the courses that will sensitize the scholars about the new challenges in academics and policy making and help them to enrich the knowledge pool for safeguarding the national interests.
Among others who were present on the occasion included Dr.Archana Koul, a reputed researcher on genetic studies, Nitin Verma, Mandeep Singh Rissam Verinder Singh,Tejinder Singh Charak and Manik Sharma.
