Various schemes launched for welfare of women: Luthra

JAMMU, Oct 24: Government has launched various schemes for the welfare of the women folk in the State.
This was stated by Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Bimla Luthra during a meeting held at village Kanal, block Bishnah. The meeting, which was attended by women workers of National Conference was organised by Soma Devi.
During the meeting, the participants apprised MLA about the problems being faced by them including road connectivity, acute water shortage, dilapidated condition of roads, power shortage, old age pension, etc.
MLA assured the gathering that all their demands raised will be redressed at the earliest.
She also informed about the developmental policies and programme of the Government, which are people friendly. Keeping in view the topography of the State special thrust has been given for the development of the far-flung areas, she added.
Among others present were Gulshan Devi, Jyoti Devi, Madhu Bala, Sunita, Kailash Devi, Pushpa Devi, Satya, Geeta Devi, Veena Oberoi, Raj, Bharti, etc.
