Omar adopting double standards on accession of J&K with India: Vakil

SRINAGAR, Oct 24: Member AICC and former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today accused Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of adopting double standards on accession and merger of J&K with India.
“His suggestions to Center to look at the other military options, in case Pakistan does not stop violating LoC ceasefire, is proving this double standard,” Vakil said adding that Omar must clear his stand on the issue and termed his utterances as political gimmick, illogical and against national interest.
Mr Vakil said that Central Government will deal the situation tactfully and strongly without third party intervention and it is a globally proven fact that dialogue is the only way to achieve goals in resolving conflicts as war brings devastation and destruction only.
Pakistan has fallen prey to its own knit policy and Nawaz Sharief Government also failed to contain the ground situation there; killing of innocents in firing and bomb blasts is a routine matter there, hence Pakistan should devise a policy to divert the attention of its citizens and foreign countries from prevailing uncertainty in the country to LoC firing, Vakil added.
He said that Pakistan must work to minimize the miseries of common people there and continued ceasefire violations by it will not be of any help to this trouble torn nation. Pakistan must acknowledge that brunt of the violence and war, if reciprocated by India in the same manner will endanger peace in the whole subcontinent, therefore, it is binding upon Pakistan to exercise restraint and respect cease fire agreement at any cost, Mr Vakil added.
