Samba, Oct 24: Former Minister, MLA Vijaypur and Senior Vice President National Conferene Surjit Singh Slathia today visited the border village Nanga in Vijaypur Constituency and interacted with the people of the area who are facing difficulties due to continuous shelling from across the border.
Mr Slathia assured the people that the Government will extend all possible help to the people who are badly effected by the firing at the border areas. Mr Slathia also assured the people that the security forces deployed at the border are competent to face the problems arising due to heavy shelling.
He said that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will stress on Centre to take up the matter with the Pakistan and resolve the issue so that the peace returns on borders and on the LoC.
The District Development Commissioner Samba R.K Varma and other senior officers of district administration, Panchs and Sarpanchs also accompanied the MLA during his visit.
