Workshop on ‘Robotics’ kicks off at KU

SRINAGAR, Oct 24: A two-day workshop on Robotics organized by Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Technology, University of Kashmir, with Rational Tabs- a robotic company of Kashmir- to impart hands-on training to students for building robots and provide them practical experience of understanding the software as well as hardware aspects of robotics has begun in the varsity.
In a press statement, the KU said that the workshop was attended by more than 100 students pursuing electronics and B. Tech courses at various campuses of KU and in various sessions the students learnt about building, working and functioning of servo motors, sensors, ultrasonic sensor, touch sensor, light sensor and sound sensor.
Head Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Technology KU Prof Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Bhat said it shall also provide useful information to the participants about NXT based projects like catapult, Lawn Mover, Belt driven color, Robotic arm, scorpion and humanoid etc.
Prof Rakesh Sharma an expert in Robotics and advisor to Rational Tabs Technologies Pvt Ltd said the youth of today hold the key for the development of any State or nation and technology has great role in driving the youth to strive for excellence and fiddle with creative ideas which can change the fortunes of any society for all times to come.
