JAMMU, Dec 25: Activists of Shiv Sena Hindustan (SSH) J&K led by their president Rajesh Kesri staged a protest demonstration today demanding repair of bridge on Tamala Nallah in Arnia sector.
The protesters claimed that the bridge has been delayed despite availability of funds and in the absence of the bridge, frequent accidents take place in the area.
Addressing the protesters, Kesri said that despite its strategic value, the bridge is marked by potholes and is without proper lighting which makes it difficult to pass through the area during night.
He further said that the Roads and Building Department has failed to keep the bridge in good condition. “It is very unfortunate that no step has been taken to carry out the necessary repairs on the bridge. The administration should give due consideration to the road infrastructure in rural areas,” the Shiv Sena leader said adding that the Bridge is also used by security forces to reach border areas.
SSH State vice president Balveer Kumar, Laba Baba, Vijay Luthra, Sanjeev Sharma, Raj Kumar, Suresh, Darshana Devi, Desraj, Rakesh and Rajesh were also present in the protest.
