Dy Mayor chairs meeting on ‘Housing For All’

JAMMU, Dec 26: In a “Housing For All” meeting held under the chairmanship of Deputy Mayor Jammu, Baldev Singh Billawaria and attended among others by senior officers of Jammu Municipal Corporation, J&K Housing Board, Jammu Development Authority and members of committee, the Dy Mayor sought lists of leftover potential beneficiaries from the concerned people.
During the meeting Billawaria pointed out that the Municipal Corporators are approaching for consideration of leftover beneficiaries under PMAY (Urban) Mission and to obtain list of leftover potential beneficiaries to be considered under PMAY (Urban) Mission after verification from District Level Committees (DLC).
Deputy Mayor, urged all Corporators to provide the lists of beneficiaries under Housing For All Scheme till Dec 29 so that the department initiates work on it. He directed to start from the ward, where all the installments are completed under Housing For All Scheme.
He appreciated the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for introducing the Housing For All Scheme. He said this scheme will help the poor and needy people of Jammu to get access to affordable housing. He thanked the Central Government for providing the necessary financial assistance to implement the scheme.
During the meeting of “Skill Development & Self Employment Committee”, Deputy Mayor directed the concerned officials that license will be provided to the Rehris with the consent of Councillor of that ward. He urged all stakeholders to come forward to empower the youth of Jammu. He said that the youth are the backbone of any society and must be given the opportunity to realize their potential.
He added that the Government and other organizations should provide the necessary resources and support to the youth to help them build their skills and to make a meaningful contribution to society. He thanked the committee members and appreciated their dedication to the cause. These meetings were attended by the committee members Suneet Raina, Suriender Sharma, Pritam Singh, IK Randhawa, Amit Gupta, Jaideep Sharma, Sat Pal Karlupia and Narotam Sharma.
