RAMBAN, Dec 26: Five persons were injured after a passenger vehicle of Tempo Traveller make they were travelling in hit a retaining wall and got stuck in a drain alongside Jammu Srinagar National Highway in Chambawas area of Banihal today.
Police said the vehicle bearing registration number JK12-8645 was on its way to Jammu from Railway Station Banihal when the mishap took place.
The injured were shifted to Sun District Hospital Banihal.
One critically wounded passenger Ajaz Ahmed, 47, resident of Noor Bagh, Srinagar was referred to GMC Hospital, Anantnag after necessary medical aid.
Police identified other four injured passengers as Faisal Ahmed, 24, resident of Handwara, Srinagar; Fayaz Ahmed, 53, resident of Uri, Baramulla; Ashan Ahmed, 23, resident of Baramulla and Azhar Ahmed, 22, resident of Baramulla and they were undergoing treatment at SDH Banihal till last report.
Police has registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Banihal.
