Pitable plight of State pensioners

Sir,
Although on the one hand Elderly day has been celebrated all over the country for the welfare of old ones, yet the State Govt. seems least bothered about its pensioners.
What most deplorable is that one of the most respected persons in the Cabinet has once said that ‘Pensioners has outlived their lives…What a pity?”
In the past the pensioner  used to get their pension dues on last day of each month. Subsequently, it commenced to be paid on Ist of each month. Now, the position is that it is not paid even upto 3rd or 4th of a month. It has been given to understand that pension shall be paid in three installments in a month. In case it does happen, when it is believed to be ‘No’ than another axe shall fall on the necks of a pensioner. To this Financial crunch is being attributed when on the face of it about 50 percent of funds siphoned from the Centre on one pretext or other go down the drain in the name of development.
Now, the position has arisen that even the 3rd installment of arrears of 6th Pay Commission remains unpaid to date, it is Oct. 2013.
To the contrary, the Govt. has hiked the salaries of the ministers and even ex-MLAs/MLCs. Their arrears are cleared in one instalment.
Yours etc….
