JAMMU, Dec 27: The Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages (JKAACL) has organised the fifth day of the Poetry Festival, dedicated to the Gojri language, at JKAACL premises here, today. The Poetry Festival intends to accommodate more than 250 poets of seven different languages: Urdu, Hindi, Kashmiri, Dogri, Punjabi, Gojri, and Pahari — with a day dedicated to every single language.
Rashid Azam Inqalabi, Special Secretary (retired), was the chief guest on the occasion. The event was presided over by Sarwar Chouhan, (retd) SSP and a prominent literary personality of the region, praised the literary initiative of the JKAACL to envision the vibrant Gojri culture and literature through a creative lens. During the event, Anwar Hussain, Dr Jitender Udhampuri, and Ch Jamat Ali were the esteemed guests of honour, each dignitary appreciated the initiative of the JKAACL for providing a platform to the youth — the future of literature — to experience the creative literary expression.
Bharat Singh, secretary JKAACL, gave welcome address. He extolled the contribution of the Gojri language and poets, in general, to society. He further affirmed that JKAACL will continue to work towards its literary endeavours aimed at the promotion of literature both in the Jammu and the Kashmir region.
Mohammad Iqbal Hayat, Asif Rahat Bhadarwahi, Ch Balal Zam Zam, Ishaq Ahmed Hasrat, Ch Gulab U Din Tahir, Zahida Begum, Bashrat Hussain Inqalabi, Sadaam Hussain Saraf, Tufail Hussain Majhroo, Sabar Hussain Nadeem, Altaf Ahmed Nazami, Ishtyak Ahmed Misbah, Shakeel Ahmed Rahi, Bagh Hussain Qammar, Mohammad Jahangir Asghar, Mohammad Sharif Qamar, Mohd Younis Abrar, Shaziza Kouser, Jafar Hussain Tabsh, Mumtaz Ahmed Chowdhary, Khuda Baksh Mehjoor, Saraj ud Din Sani, Mian Irshad Qamar, Tayab Raza Jalni, Mohammad Jahangir Asghar, Maqsooq Ahmed Naqshbandi, Ali Jan Parwaz, Gulzar Tabsum, Khadam Hussain Khaki, Bashir Hussain Khaki, and Mohmmad Rafiq Sooz graced the event and spellbound the audience with their poetical renditions.
Naseem Akhtar conducted the proceedings. Dr Shahnawaz in charge Gojri Wing, JKAACL, presented vote of thanks.
On December 28, the JKAACL is dedicating the final day of the poetry festival to the Pahari language.
The audience enthusiastically relished the grandeur of the literary expression.
