North Zone Rupak Festival concludes at Police Auditorium

JAMMU, Dec 28: ‘North Zone Rupak Mahotsav’, organised by Central Sanskrit University, Shri Ranbir Campus, concluded at Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground, here today.
The chief guest of the event was Anshul Garg, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) Katra, while guest of honour was Jagdish Mehra, Joint Executive Officer SMVDSB. The program was presided over by Campus Director Prof Madan Mohan Jha.
The program was inaugurated with Vedic invocation by Dr Anay Mani Tripathi of Ved Department and students of Chudamani Sanskrit Sansthan, Basohli. The students of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Gurukul Katra presented auspicious songs.
The chief guest Anshul Garg said that by organizing such plays, regional level students will get a chance to display their talent. Students of Jammu and Kashmir will get recognition at all India level through this event.
“Many plays are mentioned in the ancient culture of India, such as Abhijnanasakuntalam, Uttararamacharita etc. Abhinav Gupta of Kashmir has written the famous commentary Abhinav Bharti on the famous book of Natyashastra,” he said.
Jagdish Mehra said that drama has always been close to my heart. Drama is connected to my childhood. Selected participating artists from North Zone will go to All India level and make their College feel proud by winning medals.
Prof Satish Kumar Kapoor, the coordinator of the program outlined Rupak Mahotsav and welcomed the guests, while Dr Harishankar Pandey of the Vyakaran Department gave vote of thanks. The inaugural session was conducted by Dr Rajkumar Mishra of Sanskrit Sahitya Vidyashakha.
The chief guest of the valedictory session was DIG Shakti Pathak, Director of Special Security Force, Jammu Raj Bhavan and special guest Jammu SSP Virendra Manhas.
Shakti Pathak started his speech with Sanskrit language and applauded the efforts of the University in the propagation and promotion of Sanskrit language.
The best actor award was given to Sumit Godiyal Raghunathkirti Campus Devpryag, while best actress award was given to Shreshta of the Devprayag Campus and the award for best dialogue delivery was given to Ranbir Campus Jammu, besides best direction award went to Vinod Sharma from Vedvyas Campus Himachal Pradesh and the best play award was given to Shri Ranbir Campus Jammu
The well known senior theatre artist and ace director Vijay Goswami and actress Gurpreet Kaur Jamwal were among the jury members. The program coordinator Prof Satish Kumar Kapoor gave a vote of thanks, while Dr Tejnath Paudel conducted the proceedings at the closing ceremony.
