Sahai asks jawans to maintain professionalism

SRINAGAR, Oct 25: The Additional DGP Armed S M Sahai held a Darbar of jawans of all Central, South Kashmir based Armed/IRP Battalions and CTC Lethpora staff at Armed Police Complex Zewan today.
The ADGP exhorted the officers and jawans present in Darbar that while dealing with law and order situations, due standards of professionalism, conduct and behavior should be maintained. He impressed upon the officials to be alert and vigilant to thwart any nefarious design of anti-social and anti-national elements. The ADGP highly appreciated the role played by Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police in counter insurgency operations as well as maintenance of law & order in the State.
He said that there was a demand from all ranks of Armed Police that there should be better ration and canteen facilities in all the units. “Keeping in view the demand of Jawans and Officers, we have started providing better facilities to Jawans by creating Central Pricing & Quality Control Committee (CP&QC), with the result mess charges of Jawans have been considerably brought down”, Sahai said.
During Darbar, various problems related to living condition with basic amenities and other welfare measures were put forth by the officers and jawans. The ADGP assured them that the redressal of their genuine grievances, whether domestic or service related would be looked into for appropriate action. He issued on spot instructions for the redressal of grievances of lower subordinates especially problems related to accommodation & washroom facilities being faced by Women Police.
The ADGP said that the services of officers and jawans with certain areas of specialization would be utilized in their respective fields and in this regard a plan is being chalked out at APHQ level. He said that all those officers & jawans, who have sustained injuries during anti-militancy operations and maintenance of law & order duties, will be provided all possible help by the Department.
