JAMMU, Dec 28: “Ever since Indian borders under Prime Minister, Narendra Modi Government have become impregnable, enemy nations and narcotic smugglers are facing a tough time surviving on their nefarious designs. Today, be it Chinese aggression, Pakistan’s attempts to infiltrate militants or narcotic dealers’ moves to enter Indian State, are all being foiled by our valiant soldiers.
This was stated by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member, Raman Suri, who added that the recent seizure of arms, ammunition and drugs along with arrest of 10 crew members of a Pakistani boat by ATS Gujarat is quite enough to understand how vigilant our belt forces are and how swiftly they foiled an attempt of enemy nation to push in narcotics worth Rs 300 crore in India.
He said, be it borders at cold desert of Siachen, tough terrains along Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, deserts of Gujarat or coast lines of Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, our forces are manning them all ably and this is the reason that the Chinese were pushed back, this boat was seized and attempts to drop arms and ammunition through drones in Jammu and Kashmir have all been foiled ably.
Raman Suri said, had the Pakistani boat carrying weapons and 10 crew members not been apprehended by the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) on Tuesday, these people could have created huge havoc. The fishing boat, Al Soheli was carrying arms, ammunition and about 40 kgs of narcotics worth Rs. 300 crores, which was apprehended close to the International Maritime Border Line (IMBL).
Earlier also, our vigilant forces had seized heroin worth Rs 1,930 crore. The Border Security Forces (BSF) this September had foiled a narco-terror smuggling attempt from Pakistan by firing upon the drone in Punjab’s Amritsar area. Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) had also apprehended a Pakistani fishing boat with 40 kgs of drugs worth Rs 200 crore in the Arabian Sea off the Gujarat coast.
Similarly in August this year, the BSF had foiled a major narcotic smuggling bid from across the border and shot at a Pakistani intruder in Samba district. Raman Suri said, gone are the days when militants and narcotic smugglers were having a free run in our country. Now the Modi Government is going tough on these anti-national elements.
