KATHUA, Dec 28: Former minister Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today said that the insensible BJP Government at the Centre has made the people of Jammu and Kashmir suffer on all counts.
Addressing a public meeting at Six Acres Farm at Mandli in Billawar, Dr Manohar accused the Union Government of reducing status of people to fourth class who voted them to power in Assembly as well as Parliamentary polls. He pledged that he will fight for the cause of people of J&K and invited secular minded people to come on one platform to fight for the cause to restore lost honour.
“Right of our youth on Government jobs has been snatched and given to outsiders despite knowing how our youth get education in troubling times of militancy and frequent border disturbance in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said and added that the people of Jammu were hurt when they were reserved for fourth class jobs.
He claimed that BJP will have to pay heavy price for the conspiracy which it has allegedly knitted against people of J&K. “Today the situation on ground is that all the communities are up in arms against BJP as all are feeling cheated at the hands of BJP’s wrong policies,” Dr Manohar maintained adding, if BJP Government claims to be honest and judicious, they should come before the public and justify how several decisions in J&K taken against the wishes of the people, who are the real stakeholders.
The former minister said J&K lost their identity under BJP and appealed to the people to support him in the fight for the restoration of statehood. He said in the absence of an elected government, the LG administration has failed badly to pursue all those connected with development for giving push to the schemes and projects aimed at overall development and welfare of various areas and different segments of society.
