JAMMU, Dec 29: In its general council meeting, SRDR Senior Citizen Support Services Club elected its office bearers and Governing body with president, general secretary and 10-member of managing committee for one year.
The founder and chairman of this premier club for elders, Dr Kasturi Lal Gupta, chaired the meeting and got approval of the general body for the office bearers and 10-member committee of the Club. All the members unanimously approved in the new committee.
While Ashok Gupta became the president, vice-presidents are SK Jain, Anil Suri, Jagdish Langer, Shafiqa Bano, Verinder Gupta and Raman Suri while Major General SK Sharma (retired) has been made general secretary. The executive members include Abhinandan Jain, Sunil Gupta, Sapna Sethi, Satpal, Deepak Kohli, Rakesh Khajuria, Raman Gandotra, Omkar Sharma, Ashok Khajuria and Rakesh Sharma. In addition, Neha Kakkar Gupta has also been associated with it.
The new committee is tasked to expand membership, upgrade the functioning of the Club and carry out recreation, indoor sports, reading of books and magazines for the members.
On this occasion, Vijay Bhagotra (general secretary, Home for Age and Infirm, Amphalla) and OP Sharma (veteran Journalist) were honoured and presented shawls as a token of their services by SK Jain and Dr Kasturi Lal of the Club.
