NEW DELHI, Oct 26: Rice basmati prices strengthened on the wholesale grains market today on increased buying by stockists against limited arrivals from producing belts.
However, other grains moved in a tight range on little doing and settled around previous levels.
Traders said increased buying by stockists against restricted arrivals from producing belts mainly strengthen rice basmati prices.
In the national capital, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety ended higher at Rs 7,700-7,800 and Rs 7,600-7,900 against last close of Rs 7,500-7,600 and Rs 7,600-7,800 per quintal, respectively.
The following were today’s quotations per quintal:
Wheat MP (deshi) 2,070-2,270, Wheat dara (for mills) 1,615-1,620, Chakki atta (delivery) 1,620-1,625 Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 220, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 220, Roller flour mill 880-900 (50 kg), Maida 950-970 (50 kg) and Sooji 1,025-1,040 (50kg).
Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 10,400, Shri Lal Mahal 10,000, Super Basmati Rice, 9,500, Basmati common new 7,700-7,800, Rice Pusa-(1121) new 7,600-7,900, Permal raw 2,150-2,200, Permal wand 2,300-2,400, Sela 3,225-3,275 and Rice IR-8- 1,900-1,925, Bajra 1,175-1,185, Jowar yellow 1,450-1,500, white 2,350-2,550, Maize 1,400-1,405, Barley 1,130-1,135, Rajasthan 1,080-1,090.
