VHP observes Accession Day

JAMMU, Oct 26: In connection with observance of Accession Day today a function was organized by  VHP and Bajrang Dal at Shakti Ashram Rehari where the National Tricolour was unfurled by VHP State president, Dr Rama Kant Dubey and sweets were also distributed among the people.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Dubey said the J&K merged with Indian Union in the same manner in which the other 507 princely States of India joined the Indian Union after independence. He termed the statements of those totally unlawful who are raising the fingers on the merger of the State with India.
He said personal friendship between the then Prime Minister, Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru and Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah proved costly for the people of the State and it was the cause of present mess.
Dr Dubey said that those who express doubts about the accession of India and challenge it should deprived of their citizenship.
He accused Pt Nehru of not taking his Cabinet colleagues into confidence over the Kashmir issue and its merger with Union of India which led to the problems later.
The VHP president however acclaimed the role of Sardar Patel, then Prime Minister of J&K, Meharchand Mahajan and RSS chief, Guru Golewalkar who motivated Maharaja to sign the instrument of Accession with India.
