KISHTWAR, Jan 2: District and Sessions Judge Kishtwar, Y.P Kotwal sentenced rape accused Raju alias Bilal son of Gh. Mohd resident of Sigdi, Tehsil Chatroo here to eight years imprisonment along with a fine of Rs. 50,000 in case of FIR No. 45/2016 U/S 376, 363, 452 RPC of Police Station Chatroo.
As per the case on December 8, 2016, a lady produced a written application at Police Station Chatroo duly endorsed by CJM Kishtwar stating that on December 4, 2016 ex-militant Raju entered her house with arms/ammunition and kidnapped her minor daughter and also looted ornaments of her daughter-in-law.
On this, a case in FIR No. 45/2016 U/S 452/363/380/109/RPC was registered at Police Station Chatroo and investigation started.
During course of investigation Sections 376/323/RPC were added in the case.
Different teams were constituted and the accused was arrested, the offences against him were proved and subsequently the Challan was produced before the Court.
The trail lasted for about six years and on December 29, 2022 the District & Sessions Judge Kishtwar sentenced the accused for eight years rigorous imprisonment along with fine of Rs. 50,000.
