SRINAGAR, Jan 2: The Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura has urged the faculty members to join the Grand Rounds which are held without fail every Saturday.
In this regard, a circular has been issued by the Director, SKIMS which stated that notwithstanding, the clear and elaborate instructions issued by the SKIMS Deemed University regarding attending the Grand Rounds in SKIMS Auditorium every Saturday, it has been observed that a sizable number of faculty members of SKIMS arc not complying with these instructions and have shown reluctance in attending this important academic event.
“Grand Rounds are an important educational event of every Medical Institution organized to keep the medical fraternity updated in important areas which may be outside of the domain of their core practice,” the circular issued here said.
It has been impressed upon all the faculty members of SKIMS, especially the newly joined Assistant Professors, to strictly adhere to the instructions “and attend the Grand Rounds regularly on every Saturday” and actively take part in discussions towards the end of Grand Round to elevate the academia nature of the event.
“Also, all the HoDs of SKIMS are enjoined upon to ensure the participation of all the faculty members of their respective Departments in all the academic events of the SKIMS Deemed University in general and Grand Rounds in particular.”
