JAMMU, Jan 2: Continuing the campaign to provide better development as well as basic facilities to the people of the area of Bahu constituency, Baldev Singh Billawaria, Deputy Mayor, Jammu along with Chairman Public Health and Sanitation Committee, Raj Kumar Tarkhan kick started the work of laying water pipeline at Ward 45, Digiana today.
The estimated total cost of the development work is Rs five lakh approximately and it will be carried out under the supervision of the concerned authorities.
Speaking on the occasion, Billawaria said that this was a long pending demand of the local people and now the demand has been fulfilled. He said that a deputation from this area approached him about a few months back with the demand and he immediately directed the concerned department and today the development work was started.
He said that after the laying of this pipeline, water will reach every house in the area and people will not have to suffer for drinking water.
Billawaria, said “I am happy that awareness regarding the importance of water is growing and efforts too are increasing in this direction,. Today a campaign is being launched which I had also mentioned in my recent visits in different wards along with the corporators,. An arrangement regarding the drinking water/health and sanitation, has been reached today in the interest of millions of families of Jammu City and its surroundings which is a great initiative in realizing the dream of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi – Sabka-Saath-Sabka-Vikas-Sabka-Vishwas-Sabka-Prayas.
Deputy Mayor, Jammu also said that the chairman Public Health and Sanitation Committee, Raj Kumar Tarkhan’s nature of working has endeared him to work in JMC so that benefits of the development reach to people. He appreciated the efforts of Chairman Raj Kumar Tarkhan and asked him to continue working in the service of public like this.
Chairman of Public Health and Sanitation, Raj Kumar Tarkhan said that the work of laying water pipelines is being done in the proposed areas under the scheme will solve the problems of the people of the area to a great extent. He said that in order that there should be no shortage of water in any neighborhood, efforts are being made by the Central Government to provide water facilities to the people under several schemes.
