AAP leader, others call on RRC, discuss migrants’ issues

JAMMU, Jan 2: M.K. Yogi Prabhari Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Displaced Minority Cell J&K UT, Vinod Pandita and Sunil Pandita social activists called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner Migrants J&K, K K Sidha and discussed various issues confronting the community with him.
The delegation appealed RRC J&K for redressal of the same on priority basis.
In a joint statement issued today, M.K. Yogi, Vinod Pandita and Sunil Pandita expressed that during the detailed meeting held with Relief and Rehabilitation Commis-sioner, Migrants , a wide range of discussions took place during this meet and the pertinent issues brought into his notice were enhancement of monthly cash assistance from Rs. 13000 to Rs. 25000 per month, infrastructures deficiency in SDH Jagti, employment generation avenues for educated unemployed youth, implementation of Central sponsored schemes in camps and non camps, regular supply of pure drinking water in all migrant camps, issues of PM Package employees, illegal land encroachment of migrants of village Levedora (Qazigund) etc.
The officer after hearing the issues assured the leaders that the same would be taken up with the concerned departments’ forthwith for their early settlement. The land encroachment issues of the migrants was instantly taken with the concerned higher authorities for the protection and preservation of the same under provisions of J&K Migrant Property Act, 1997.
These leaders expressed gratitude to the Relief Commissioner (M) and expressed overall satisfaction on his prompt working system in disposing off the public grievances instantly without any delay.
