JAMMU, Jan 3: State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Jammu and Kashmir Divisional office Jammu organized the State Level Exhibition And Project Competition (SLEPC) under INSPIRE Award-MANAK Scheme 2021-2023 at Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Shastri Nagar Jammu, here today.
Sponsored by Department of Science and Technology, Govt of India and organized under the overall guidance and supervision H R Pakhroo, Joint Director, JKSCERT, Jammu, the exhibition was inaugurated by Dr Ravi Shankar Sharma, Director School Education, Jammu and Iftikhar Hussain Chauhan, Director Finance, School Education Department Civil Secretariat, Jammu (J&K).
While inaugurating the SLEPC, Dr Ravi Shankar motivated the students to think out of the box and create wonders. Ifthikhar Hussain, who is also the UT level Nodal officer of the INSPIRE Award MANAK Scheme (J&K), stressed the need of more participation by the students in such kind of activities.
H R Pakhroo, in his welcome address, motivated participants to think critically like the eminent scientists and develop higher order thinking skills.
The exhibition displayed 42 innovative science models prepared by students of both Government and private schools of Jammu province.
An independent jury were drawn from the field of Sciences, including Dr Sanjeev Arya Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, University of Jammu; Dr Balgar Singh, Puneet Thukral, Rohit Sharma, Sr Academic officers JKSCERT, Jammu; Parvaiz Ahmed Mir, Shabir Ahmad Kutay and Irteza Fayaz from NIF, DST, New Delhi. They selected best exhibits for National Level Exhibition and Project Competition, to be held at New Delhi.
The prizes were distributed to National Level Exhibits by the Joint Director JKSCERT, Jammu, H R Pakhroo in the presence of august gathering.
The six top winners included Preeti Devi (Reasi district), Akarsh Singh Bhau (Doda), Jatin Sharma (Kathua), Monica Devi (Jammu), Arun Sambyal (Kathua) and Angad Kumar (Jammu). Two students named Chahat Sharma and Rammi Sharma from GHS Parangol Kathua along with their escort teacher Munish Narayan were also awarded certificates for their participation in Rashtriya Bal Vaighyanik Pradarshini- 2022 held at Guwahati, Assam.
The programme was moderated by Deepak Sharma senior Academic officer JKSCERT, Jammu. Ashu Magotra, Nodal Officer INSPIRE- SCERT J&K Jammu presented vote of thanks.
