More condemnations pour in for Rajouri killings

JAMMU, Jan 3: The targeted killings of Hindus in Dhangri village of Rajouri were also condemned today by several political and social organizations as well as their leaders.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri said it is very sad, shocking and condemnable that within hours of the killings of four civilians in Upper Dhangri of Rajouri, militants triggered a blast, killing two cousins, both minors. These incidents speak of cowardice act of militants who are targeting common people to spread terror. These stray incidents are not going to deter our security forces from hunting down the last militant on this soil and making peace dawn here. This, he said, is a resolve and is on the verge of completion.
Expressing shock over the incident and condemning it strongly, senior National Conference leader Ajay Sadhotra said that the incident belies claims of the Government and the security heads regarding the ground situation. “Rajouri incident clearly shows the failure of the Government in taming terrorism,” Sadhotra said and expressed condolences to the families of those killed in the heinous attack. He urged the LG administration to deploy additional forces and take all such measures to instill sense of security amongst the people of the UT.
Former MLC Vikramaditya Singh condemned the ghastly terror attack in Rajouri terming it as reprehensive act of violence and sought befitting penal action against the perpetrators of this horrendous crime in which many lives including two tiny tots perished and several others received grievous injuries. In a statement, senior political leader asked the LG administration to leave no stone unturned to bring to book the terrorists involved in this barbaric act of violence. He also demanded adequate compensation to the families which have been devastated by the dual terror strikes in Dhangri village in district Rajouri.
Chairman ST, SC OBC Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) J&K and former minister, Yashpal Kundal, while strongly condemning the Dhangri target killings, said the incident clearly shows the failure of the Government in taming terrorism. He said that this incident is a wake-up call for the Government and its security and intelligence establishment that the menace of target killings has spread its tentacles to Jammu province and that attempts are being made to revive militancy in this division as well. He urged the Government to immediately initiate proactive measures to stop target killings before it is too late.
Dogra Swabhimaan Sangathan Party in an emergency meeting under the chairmanship of its founder chairman Lal Singh condemned the Rajouri attack and termed it a blot on the entire humanity. He appealed the LG administration to immediately strengthen the VDC and encourage these local defense committees instead of issuing draconian orders for the reduction in the salaries of the SPOs.
Condemning the attack Rajouri terror attack, president of Namo Namo Morcha J&K Raj Rattan Raina extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and urged the J&K Government to extend best possible medicare to the injured. He said such attacks were aimed at disturbing the peace prevailing in the Union Territory but the Government at the Centre is committed to restore peace and tranquility in J&K.
Jantadal Secular J&K president Mast Nath Yogi while condemning the attack, criticized the Government for lapses in the security arrangement of the minority community and asked the Government for full proof arrangements of security of minority community so that such incidents do not take place in future.
District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) Rajouri also condemned the innocent killings in Rajouri and demanded the Central Government to provide financial support and Government job to at least one member of each aggrieved family and also guns to the villagers for self protection.
While condemning the killing of minorities, Trikuta Kashmiri Samiti requested the Government to take stringent measures to ensure safety of innocent people. Samiti members also prayed for speedy recovery of the injured and courage to kin of those who lost their loves ones.
Kisan Sabha, in an emergent meeting held at Jammu, expressed shock over the terrorist attack in village Dhangri and strongly condemned it. “The people living on the borders, all farmers, are vulnerable to such threats to life and peaceful living. The Government should point out lapse in security cover and plug the loop holes,” Kisan Sabha leaders observed.
A large number of people from Budhal and its adjoining areas took out a candle light march against target killings of minority community in Dhangri and also paid tributes to those who lost their precious lives in this barbaric and coward terrorist attack. Condemning the attack, prominent BJP leader from Budhal Assembly Segment Manzoor Naik said, “We have come here to stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters who lost their dear ones in Dhangri terrorist attack”.
Strongly condemning the targeted killings in Rajouri, Kashmiri Khatri Hindu Maha Sabha demanded the J&K as well as Central Government to take concrete steps to protect the lives of innocent Hindus in J&K. They also sought adequate compensation and Government job to one of the family members or other kith and kin of the deceased.
Agrivision JK organized a silent protest against the targeted killings in Rajouri. The protest was lead by Agrivision State convenor Sourav Manhas, vice-president Dr Gurwinder Singh, Maninder Singh, Rahul Sharma, Dinesh Sou and Mridul Sharma.
