JAMMU, Jan 5: Councillor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Inder Singh Soodan here today started construction and repair work of drains at Lane number 2 in Sector-7 of his Ward number 44 in Guru Nanak Nagar.
Soodan told reporters that a delegation of locals of the area met him with the demand of repair of drains which were in dilapidated condition.
“I in turn took up the issue with Jammu Municipal Corporation and got the work approved which will now be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 13 lakh,” he said.
Soodan assured the people of his Ward that remaining works of the Ward shall also be completed soon and sought support of the locals to make the Ward a model one.
He asked the people of the Ward to avoid throwing garbage here and there and use garbage collecting autos for garbage disposal.
Those who were present on the occasion were S. Amrik Singh, S. Surinder Singh, Baljeet Singh, S. Mehar Singh, S. Manmohan Singh, Ravinder Singh and others.
