Shobha Yatra of Bhagwan Vishavkarma taken out

JAMMU, Oct 27: A grand colourful Shobha Yatra of Bhagwan Vishavkarma was taken out in the City of Temples here today.
The programme in this connection was organized by Pradesh Vishavkarma Sabha under the leadership of Ravi Verma (president). Besides other members of the Sabha, a large number of people participated in Shoba Yatra. The large procession with ‘Jhankies’ started from Vishavkarma temple at Gurha Morh Bakshi Nagar here. Kuldip Raj Verma, Vice Chairman of OBC Advisory Board flagged off Shobha Yatra and it passed through various city routes and finally culminated at the same place. Decorated chariots depicted the `Jhankies’ of Lord Vishavkarma.
Many youth from the OBC community were seen dancing on the drum beats and the women chanting songs in the praise of Lord Vishavkarma.
At Bakshi Nagar the large gathering was addressed by several community leaders including R L Chargotra, Puran Chargotra, Vijay Kumar, Labba Ram Gandhi and Shashi Verma. They highlighted the importance of Bhagwan Vishavkarma who created this beautiful universe with his scientific skills and helping Gods in different `Yugas’ for construction purpose. They also raised the demand of 27 % reservation to the community in the State.
