Karvan-e-Aman operates normally despite Pak shelling

SRINAGAR :  Notwithstanding unprovoked shelling by Pakistani troops in Uri sector in which an Army officer was killed, the Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad operated normally.

The bus from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) arrived on the other side of the Kaman post, the last Indian military post on this side of the Line of Control  (LoC) in Uri sector, where the Pak troops violated the ceasefire and fired mortar shells at 0015 hrs, official sources said.

They said those travelling in the bus later crossed into this side after covering the Aman Setu, peace bridge, on foot this afternoon.

Similarly those travelling from here to PoK also crossed over to other side of the LoC, they said adding details of those who crossed the border was being  collected.
