People affected by construction of Expressway continue protest

KATHUA, Jan 7: The affected people of Expressway of Chann Rodian who are on protest dharna for last three days in support of their demand of genuine compensation of their land and buildings which have come under Expressway today warned the authorities that they will intensify the agitation if demand was not settled.
The dharna was supported by Democratic Azad Party, leader, Subash Gupta, Vinay Sharma, Sarpanch, Parveen Bhagat, Rameshwer Sharma and Kulbushan Sharma who expressed solidarity with affected parties including shopkeepers and inhabitants of Chan Rorian who are sitting on hunger strike for the last one week whose shops and houses are coming under Delhi Katra Expressway in support of their demands.
Prominent among those who are sitting on relay hunger strike included Ashwani Kumar, Rajat Gupta, Sudarshan Kumar, Goldy Sharma, Ashwani Gupta, Pardeep Sharma, Sunil Gupta Chairman, Manish Sharma, Deepak Raina, KR Raina and many others. They are demanding change of Alignment of Expressway instead of Chhan Rorian Bajar, genuine compensation of commercial shops and houses as per current market value, employment to those who are affected due to construction of Expressway, alternative land on National Highway in lieu of their shops and houses which are likely to be affected due to Expressway and bridge type flyover be constructed in Chan Rorian Bajar.
They alleged that nobody came to listen their problem from district administration or Expressway authorities.
They asked the higher authorities to take necessary action to make justice with them. Otherwise they will never allow the authorities to destroy their livelihood.
