KATRA, Oct 28: In its drive against smuggling of liquor and drugs, Katra Police today arrested a bootlegger and a drug peddler.
The bootlegger namely Mukesh Kumar of Patna, presently putting up at Katra, was arrested at Police Check Post Moori Katra. 37 pouches of J&K Excise liquor were seized from his possession. A case under Section 48-(a) Excise Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Katra.
In another success, one drug peddler namely Mohinder Sharma of Lower Munda Chenani was arrested at PCP Nomain. The accused was carrying 175 gm of poppy straw, which was recovered by police.
A case under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in this regard.
