JAMMU, Jan 9: Two Kashmiri books `Mwkhtas Mwluvan’ of P N Shad and `Yeli Soonth Harareow’ of Avtar Krishan Naz hit stands today.
The books were released at a simple but impressive function organised by Nagrad Adbi Sangam a literary organisation at K L Sehgal Hall here. Former Chief Secretary and Ex MLC, Vijay Bakaya was the chief guest on the occasion while function was presided over by Prof. M Zaman Azurda. Prof. Rattan Talashi, Prof Shad Ramzan and Dr Shahnawaz, Cultural Officer J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages were the guests of honour on the occasion.
In his address Vijay Bakaya said that writers and artists play an important role in a creative manner. He said it is heartening that displaced writers despite facing many hardships and pangs of exile struggled hard to keep the cultural alive.
Prof Zaman Azurda in his address said the Nagrad Adbi Sangam is carrying forward the literature of Kashmiri language while Prof Rattan Talashi said that the displaced writers have contributed immensely in the development of Kashmiri language despite being away from the Valley of Kashmir for over three decades.
Prof Shad Ramzan acclaimed the Nagrad Adbi Sangam in preserving the Kashmiri language. He also highly acclaimed the contribution of two authors whose books were released today.
Aseer Kishtwari a well known poet and writer presented his paper on the book `Mwkhtas Mwluvan’ written by P N Shad while Avtar Hugami read the paper on A K Naz’s book `Yeli Soonth Hareow’.
Hasrat Gadda and Majeed Masroor gave their comments on both the books and termed the work of two authors excellent.
The welcome address was read by Avtar Hugami. Sheena granddaughter of P N Shad also spoke on life of Shad while Anita Bhat Pandita highlighted the literary works of her father.
The vote of thanks was presented by Ashok Gowhar. Vijay Wali a well known poet and writer conducted the proceedings.
