UDHAMPUR, Jan 9: Agitated over the worst condition of Mahatma Gandhi Marg Link Road Rathian connecting with Dhaar road and Jammu Srinagar Highway, locals held a strong protest against the Public Works Department, PWD (R&B) authorities, here today.
The protesting locals were raising slogans against the PWD (R&B), Jal Shakti, PHE and District administration. They said that long pending construction of the road was expected by residents on Mahatma Gandhi Marg Link Road Rathian East which connect two highways.
“But for laying a Jal Shakti Department sanctioned six inches diameter water supply pipeline, the entire stretch was dug and not leveled afterwards with the result condition of the road has worsened,” the villagers explained and urged the concerned authorities for early restoration of the original road condition including blacktopping work.
