Lt Gen Hooda visits NIC of NCC cadets

JAMMU, Oct 28:  General Officer Commanding 16 Corps, Lt Gen D S Hooda today paid visit to the National Integration Camp (NIC) being held at NCC camp ground near Sainik School, Nagrota, about 15 kms from here today.
The Corps Commander was received by Additional DG, National Cadet Corps (NCC) of J&K, Maj Gen Neeraj Verma and other officers of  the NCC headquarters Jammu. The cadets from all over India including South and North East are participating in this unique National Integration Camp.
Well decorated cadets in smart and traditional NCC dress,  under the training and guidance of Col Rahul Bali, Group Commander of NCC Group Jammu, put up an impressive show in presenting Guard of Honour  to  Lt Gen Hooda.  The GOC also visited various stalls/ informative boards/ models etc,  displayed by the cadets depicting general information regarding NCC, its aims and objectives and benefits being given by Govt to the NCC cadets in various forces including Army Navy and Air Force.
While interacting with the  cadets and other staff accompanying them, the GOC expressed his appreciation on the fine standards of drill performance of the cadets and complimented the ADG NCC for the splendid show. He also lauded the performance of  band team, clad in an impressive dress from Sainik School, Nagrota.
The NIC is an annual event which is organized by the NCC Group, Jammu  where cadets from all the States of India present their cultural heritage thereby, creating a panorama of various regions merged together in a unique cream of colourful regional mix.
The cadets of this camp already have the opportunity to interact with the PVC Capt (Hony) Bana Singh, DIG Police Jammu-Kathua Range Shakeel Beig. The camp will culminate on October 30, 2013.
