Gunmen loot Rs 3 lakh from Bank

SRINAGAR, Oct 28:   Unidentified gunmen today looted around Rs 3 lakh from Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Rohmu in Rajpora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district this afternoon.
Sources said that at least 4 persons armed with AK-47 rifles appeared in front of Jammu and Kashmir Bank, branch Rohmu, and took the security guard present at the entrance inside the Bank.
Sources said that gunmen directed all the Bank employees and customers to assemble at one place and marched towards cash counter.  The gunmen collected all the cash whatever they found in the Bank and fled from the scene.
The gunmen fired indiscriminately in air before fleeing from the place and boarded in a Tata Mobile (JK02AH- 6851) and later abandoned it at a deserted place.
After checking out the cash, the bank manager reported to the police that Rs 2,80,430 lakh were looted from the bank. A bank robbery case (FIR 108/2013 under Section 392, 7/27 Arms Act) was registered.
Army personnel from 53 and 55 RR, SOG Pulwama and 183 Battalion CRPF cordoned off the area and sealed all the roads leading towards Pulwama to nab the robbers. But the cordon was lifted during evening after the recovery of Tata Mobile Van.
